Mardi Gras, Ash Wednesday, and Lenten Service

Last month, Holy Trinity staff, students, and families celebrated Mardi Gras and Ash Wednesday, pandemic style. On Tuesday, students made masks and learned about the celebrations of Mardi Gras and Carnival. On Wednesday, students and staff on campus watched a prayer service and received ashes sprinkled on their heads, rather than pressed on their foreheads. Students who learn virtually were also invited, with their families, to a drive through distribution of ashes. Everyone was very thankful for the ways that the Holy Trinity community has found to celebrate and honor our faith, in a safe way.

The second grade also kicked off their annual school wide Lenten Catholic Relief Services Rice Bowl collection. They have reminded us that even in a time of our own need, there is always an opportunity to serve others. Our donations will help to create sustainable food and income sources, like home gardens and chicken coops, for families around the world.
